Statistics on domestically grown catfish and trout, and U.S. imports and exports of fish and shellfish that may be products of aquaculture, such as salmon, shrimp, and oysters.
NOTE: USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) has suspended the catfish processors’ survey. Therefore, USDA, Economic Research Service tables containing data obtained from NASS on catfish processors are not being updated.
NOTE: Product lines reported in the aquaculture trade tables are based on ERS aggregations of 10-digit HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) and Schedule B codes intended to encompass all of the product forms, types and varieties that are commonly associated with each particular aquaculture category. Updates to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and to Schedule B are made routinely to account for new or discontinued products, product classifications, and definitions, and as a result, commodity aggregations must also be routinely reviewed. ERS is currently reviewing the product-line aggregations reported in this dataset to ensure that they reflect the latest HTS definitions and include the most appropriate subcategories. The following document contains the current HTS and Schedule B codes that ERS aggregates for imports and exports, respectively. ERS aquaculture trade codes.xls.
