Visiting the library The RHS Lindley Library is the best gardening library in the world. It is essential for garden history, gardens
and horticulture, with
books from 1514 to the very latest publications.

RHS Lindley Library, London, closed
Following a small fire, the RHS Lindley Library, London, is currently closed to visitors. All our historical and art collections are safe, but even a small fire can cause a lot of smoke and soot deposit, so we are organising for research material to be cleaned by specialists, some of which is being moved offsite for this to take place.
Currently none of London’s collection material is accessible, and it is likely to be some months before we get back to business as normal. While specialist cleaning work is under way, the following services will be in place:
Limited enquiry service: contact the RHS Lindley Library at RHS Garden Wisley on 01483 212 428 or email library@rhs.org.uk for further information.
Image Request Service: commercial or research image requests should be directed via www.rhsimages.co.uk until further notice.
Lindley Library, Wisley and the other Garden Libraries remain open as usual.
We apologise for the inconvenience this disruption to our services will cause to all of our users. We will post further information as soon as we have it.
