The Alaska Community Foundation Sven E. & Lorraine Eriksson Scholarship
The purpose of the Sven E. & Lorraine Eriksson Scholarship Fund, administered through the Alaska Community Foundation, is to offer financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to full-time students of the University of Alaska Anchorage who are formally admitted into an undergraduate Engineering or Music degree-seeking program.
Qualifications:
- Applicant should demonstrate motivation, academic and leadership potential.
- Applicants will be reviewed for their merit in academic achievements along with extracurricular activities as they relate to the applicant’s potential to constructively use his/her academic abilities.
- Applicant must be an Alaskan resident who has graduated from an Alaskan high school.
- Applicant must be a United States citizen.
- Applicants who are incoming college freshman must have a minimum high school grade point average of 2.5.
- Applicants who have college experience must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 from college and have had a 2.5 GPA from high school.
- Applicant must be formally admitted into an undergraduate Engineering or Music degree-seeking-program at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
- Applicant must demonstrate financial need.
- Applicant may be an incoming or continuing student at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
- Preference will be given to University of Alaska Anchorage applicants.
- Preference will be given to applicants who plan to pursue a career in Alaska as demonstrated by a personal essay.
- Prior recipients may reapply every academic year.
