What is Recreation & Activities?

In an effort to add beneficial services to the UAA residential community, the Director of UAA Housing, Dining, and Conference Services, Deb Lovaas, went searching for someone who could provide the desired benefits. On October 12, 2005 the Recreation & Activities office officially opened the doors to the Alaska outdoors.

UAA Housing Recreation and Activities is here to provide recreational opportunities which enhance the living experience at the University of Alaska Anchorage, by fostering positive peer relationships amongst the diverse groups of students that create this University. Providing the safe opportunity to experience the grandeur and wilderness of Alaska while instilling stewardship practices that preserve the wild, but above all to have fun and lust for more adventure in life as we grow through education and engagement.
