The Director, Nancy Andes ( afna@uaa.alaska.edu), is able to assist you on an array of curriculum concerns and issues you will face when developing a community-engaged learning course.
Assistance includes:

  • providing community-engaged course models
  • discussing standards and learning outcomes of a community-engaged course
  • assisting with assessment and evaluation tools
  • advising and providing bibliographical resources on community-engaged learning and research
  • informing faculty of funding opportunities for community-based learning and research
  • providing links to national, regional and local resources (training, conferences, electronic, speakers, etc.) such as Campus Compact, National Service-learning Resource Center, Carnegie Foundation’s Higher Education and the Development of Moral and Civic Responsibility, and CIRCLE: The Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning & Engagement.
