How do I become certified?

Starting  in Fall 2007  to successfully complete this requirement you must do the following:

  • Complete the New NFHS/ASAA Online Coaches Education Program NFHSlearn.com
    • NFHS Coaching Fundamentals Course
    • American Red Cross Sports Safety Course
    • ASAA Component
  • Coaches who believe that they have completed an equivalency certification program such as the ASEP courses (Coaching Principles and Sport First Aid) may submit certificates/transcripts directly to ASAA for review for determination if the alternative program may be  substituted for the NFHS requirement. If approved the coach will still be required to successfully complete the Alaska Component. Contact the ASAA office at 907-563-3723 to  make arrangements for the ASAA test. Cost of ASAA-Alaska Component is $25.00.

Information on a blended "clinic/online" version of the Fundamentals Course will be sent to member school principals and athletic directors in the coming months. The American Red Cross Sports Safety Course is only available as an online course.

Questions regarding ASAA Coaches Education program please call  ASAA at 907-563-3723 or e-mail: contactus@asaa.org
