Based on the success of our pilot program with Willow Crest School last year, we have incentives for people who already have enough “stuff”. You can give school books or sports equipment to needy students at Chinook Elementary School – the higher the pledge, the more items in the supply bag.
Approximately 60% of the students are eligible for free or reduced lunch, compared with a school district average of 38%. Chinook was designated a Title 1 School in 2007, meaning that it meets criteria for disadvantaged, limited English proficiency, or migrant children, and other measures of need. It is one of the few ASD schools to have a maintained ice rink, so student health physical fitness is an important goal at the school.
