Sarah Kirk

Sarah Kirk was raised in a log home on a mountainside in Chugiak, Alaska. In 1986, she graduated summa cum laude from Willamette University with degrees in English and humanities. In 1991, she earned an MA in English from the University of Oregon, where she focused on American Literature of the 20th Century. Kirk is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Alaska Anchorage, where she chairs the Developmental Education Department and directs the university's preparatory writing program.
