Dubbed a “community engaged” University by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, UAA strives to be a “public square” in its surrounding communities by developing strong relationships with Alaska’s movers and shakers.
Businesses and Corporations are key to making the University of Alaska Anchorage a great place to learn. Endowments, scholarships, research grants, equipment donations, capital improvements and special projects provide unique opportunities that allow UAA students to achieve their academic goals.

The Alaska Educational Tax Credit provides incentive for corporate giving. Any taxpayer that pays an Alaska State income tax, oil or gas production or oil and gas property tax, mining license tax, fisheries or fisheries landing tax, or insurance premium tax is eligible to claim a credit on their state tax for a portion of cash contributions made to the University of Alaska.
Contributions to the University of Alaska Anchorage will reduce a state tax bill. In some cases, making a gift can result in paying no state taxes at all.
