Parking Services 104: Parking Citation Appeals
Purpose
Appeal Process
Any parking citation issued at UAA may be appealed through a tiered process. The consecutive levels of appeal are:
First Level: Online appeal reviewed by the UAA Parking Services Enforcement Supervisor
Second Level: Payment of the citation followed by a written appeal turned into the Parking Services Office for hearing by the Parking Appeals Board.
The Appeals Board will convene no less than one time per academic semester. A final decision will be rendered by the Board, and the appellant will be notified by mail.
First level appeals may be entered online up to 14 calendar days after the citation issue date. If no appeals are entered within 14 calendar days, all rights to appeal the citation are forfeited. Remedies at the first level must be exhausted before appeals at the second level may be pursued.
The Parking Appeals Board will be made up of volunteers representing students, staff, and faculty. Its purpose is to impartially adjudicate appeals in accordance with parking rules and regulations and the evidence provided. The decision of the Parking Appeals Board is final—no further appeals are permitted.
Confidentiality
Citations/appeals information is considered private and confidential. All access to citations/appeals information and documentation is limited to official purposes. Using any citations/appeals information for unofficial purposes is strictly prohibited and cause for disciplinary action.
