The Green ApproachAmen Corner is the most infamous trio of holes in golf. It is located at the fabulous Augusta Golf Club in the US. Its centrepiece is the daunting 12th hole, known as Golden Bell.
At first, it is hard to see how a backdrop of such beauty and serenity can engender so much fear and trepidation in the world’s top golfers. On closer inspection, the reasons are clear: a watery grave (Rae’s Creek) awaits the under-hit shot, devilish bunkers and banking welcome those who are too bold, and even when finding the green, a treacherous putting surface is scant reward.
The Green Approach has been able to capture the spirit of Golden Bell by commissioning one of the North West’s leading garden designers, Ian Giddings, to create this show feature. Ian has given careful consideration to the undulating topography of the Augusta course. Combining natural features with unique synthetic turf technology, the result is a green that looks and plays just like the real thing, without the associated maintenance issues. The Green Approach can design and build a golf green in your garden, taking into account its existing layout and themes.
