Ribblesdale Park is a gated second home village in a private 1,000-acre country estate in the heart of the Ribble Valley. This private, modern garden is a slice of that rural retreat.
The landscape blends the lodge into its setting, creating a natural, mature garden that does not feel like part of a development.
For the lodge owner, privacy and views are essential. The garden provides for its owners by shielding them from their neighbours, absorbing sound, screening off car headlights and offering a sense of enclosure for outdoor living. The garden also frames specific views of the landscape, to be enjoyed from the lodge.
The result is an idyllic environment where the owners can unwind inside their lodge, relax in their own multi-purpose garden or enjoy the wildflower meadows. The park’s landscape has been designed to allow the village’s residents to discover nature, works of art and the estate, while specific areas have been created to encourage socialising and meditation.
Featuring a private courtyard and multi-stemmed trees, key plants include Miscanthus, Perovskia and Deschampsia.
