Why Montgomery Campus?

Troy University’s Montgomery Campus is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Montgomery, Alabama, and includes unique facilities like the Rosa Parks Library and Museum, the Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts and the W.A. Gayle Planetarium. Our outstanding Montgomery faculty and staff are dedicated primarily to serving the “nontraditional” student, who is often a working adult. We do this by providing the widest variety of learning options, including an incredible number of degree programs—29 in all—that can be completed by attending evening classes. Weekend, TV, online and blended classes are also available, allowing our students to learn when and how it’s best for them.

The average age of students at our Montgomery Campus is 28. Most are employed at the nearby Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base or in the civilian workforce throughout the tri-county area. They have families and numerous other commitments. One thing they all share is the desire to earn a better life for themselves and their families through higher education. We make it possible with degree programs and learning options that have been consistently recognized as being among the best available. Perhaps that's why TROY was named the number one public university in Alabama by Forbes magazine in 2009 and has been a Princeton Review “Best in the Southeast” for five consecutive years.
