The Center for Urban Environmental Reform (CUER) at the City University of New York School of Law is helping to bring environmental justice to classrooms with the release of its comic book Mayah’s Lot.

More than 130 CUNY School of Law students will receive their Juris Doctor degrees at a May 17 graduation ceremony. “We are immensely proud of our 2013 graduates. Their experience, intelligence, and passion will make them excellent advocates for their communities,” said CUNY Law Dean Michelle J. Anderson.

The New York State Senate voted on Monday to approve Governor Andrew Cuomo’s nomination of Professor Jenny Rivera to a seat on the New York State Court of Appeals. Rivera is the second Latina to serve on court. She fills the seat formerly held by Judge Carmen Beauchamp Ciparick, who retired at the end of December.

The New York Law Journal reported on the July 2012 bar pass rates of New York’s 15 law schools for first time takers. CUNY Law’s rate of 83.5%–the highest in the school’s history–placed the school seventh.
