The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education sponsors a pre-college programs to prepare students for entrance to Sophie Davis and other high-level college programs.

The Gateway Institute for Pre-College Education

The Gateway Institute is a CUNY partner with public high schools in New York City and is designed to prepare inner city minority students, beginning in ninth grade, for college and careers in medicine, science, engineering, teaching, research and technology. Students who have the best chance of success in Gateway should be performing academically at least at grade level in mathematics and reading, should have an overall 80-85% average in junior high school, should show consistent attendance and should demonstrate motivation for careers in science, medicine, engineering or technology.
