The Colin Powell Center's partnerships with think tanks and other national organizations are a vital component of the Center's mission to prepare a diverse, select group of outstanding students for lives of public service and active citizenship.
Brookings Institution. The Brookings Institution is a nonprofit public policy organization based in Washington, DC., whose mission is to conduct high-quality, independent research and, based on that research, to provide innovative, practical recommendations.
Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). CSIS provides strategic insights and policy solutions to decision makers in government, international institutions, the private sector and civil society.
Council on Foreign Relations. The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is an independent, nonpartisan membership organization, think tank, and publisher.
Korea Society. The Korea Society is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to the promotion of greater awareness, understanding and cooperation between the people of the United States and Korea.
In partnership with community organizations and nonprofit agencies, the Center mobilizes the resources of the City College of New York to meet pressing community needs and to serve the common good. Selected community partners include the following:
East Harlem Tutorial Program. The East Harlem Tutorial Program, a nonprofit educational organization, provides kids and young adults tutoring services, college preparation, skill building and other services they need to prepare for and succeed in college and the real world.
Grameen America. Grameen America provides affordable micro-loans and other services to financially empower low-income entrepreneurs.
International Rescue Committee. The international Rescue Committee is a nonprofit agency that provides relief, respect and renewal to refugees and victims of armed conflict around the world. The IRC also provides resettlement and related services.
WE ACT—West Harlem Environmental Action, Inc. WE ACT s a nonprofit, community-based, environmental justice organization dedicated to building community power to fight environmental racism and improve environmental health, protection and policy in communities of color and low-income.
West Harlem Group Assistance. West Harlem Group Assistance is a community based development corporation was established in 1971 to revitalize the under- invested West and Central Harlem communities
