Western Oregon University was named as a finalist in the 2013 NetApp Innovation Awards program in the Pioneer Innovation category. More than 130 nominations were received from all over the world. The categories were judged by a third-party panel of industry luminaries.
The technology that earned this recognition is snapshotting, which allows end users to selfrecover files they delete. To see a video about how to use the snapshot technology click here.
"A recognition like this is a confirmation of the hard work we've done at Western Oregon University and that we're a forward-thinking campus," said Bill Kernan, CIO of University Computing Services. He added that NetApp is using a video produced by WOU about the snapshotting technology to show their customers how NetApp technology works.
