So What is Safe Zone?

The Western Oregon University Safe Zone program seeks to form an allying network of students, faculty and staff committed and trained to provide safe, non-judgmental and supportive contacts for all WOU community members regarding Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, and Allies (GLBTQQIA) issues; we are committed to providing a campus atmosphere of universal acceptance and assistance.

Vision: To provide continuing education to the community about GLBTQ inclusiveness on and off campus.

Safe Zone Committee

The WOU Safe Zone committee is composed of people committed to the issue of diversity on campus. We are composed of students, staff, and faculty. We have several chairs that maintain certain aspects of Safe Zone.

Meetings

Safe Zone Executive meetings are every 2nd and 4th Friday at 11am in the Werner Center. These meetings are open meetings, meaning you are welcome to sit in on them if you like.
