If you were a resident during the 2013-2014 Academic Year and have Renewed your housing to live on-campus for the coming academic year, YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO BE A SUMMER STAYOVER RESIDENT.
Your account will be billed each month for the entire summer and you will be paying "rent" at the first of each month. You are NOT required to attend classes during this time period (though you are welcome to do so
if you wish) to live on-campus. (Summer School residents will only live on-campus for a set time-period during the summer (and be billed ONLY for that time period). Summer school residents are REQUIRED to attend
classes to live on-campus).
You will be living in Cedar Hall (Arbor Park).
We expect residents to move to their Summer housing on Wednesday, June 18. Please go to the RSC between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to get your summer room keys and receive moving instructions. You will need to be
moved out of your old room no later than 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 19.
You will stay in your current room. You will checkout ONLY ON PAPER (see bullet below) on Friday the 13th, but will stay in your current room until Early Move-in Day, June 18th. NOTE: You should keep your
belongings somewhat packed up and ready to move during this time period as you WILL be moving into your summer accommodations in just a few days. REMEMBER YOU ARE STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR
LEAVING YOUR CURRENT ROOM CLEAN AND READY FOR NEW OCCUPANTS!
At the end of Spring Term, you will complete and sign off on the checkout paperwork as if you were actually leaving the residence halls - but you won't ACTUALLY move until June 18th. YOU NEED TO GO
THROUGH THE PROCESS AS IF YOU WERE CHECKING OUT FOR THE SUMMER. You will sign-up for a check-out appointment with an RA (Sign-up lists will be posted in the lobby or lounge of your hall).
You do not have to have all of your belongings boxed up at this time, but the RA will need to be able to see most of the spaces in your room, and your room should be relatively clean to complete the paperwork for
a check-out - a Room Condition Report (RCR). Once the RA has inspected your room, you will sign the RCR to show your agreement of the condition you will leave the room. You will keep your key and remain in
your room until June 18th. Then on June 18th you will go to the RSC where you will receive your keys to your summer space and instructions on completing the move.
You will check into your Fall space with our Early Arrivals, tentatively scheduled for Friday, September 12, 8 a.m to 5:00 p.m. You will move your stuff into your new room and then go back to the
RSC to checkout of your summer room. Following is the tentative timeline for this process:
IMPORTANT: You must still go through the checkout and check-in processes even if your new (2014-2015 academic year) room is the same as your summer room!
Please contact the RSC at 503-838-8363 throughout the summer. RSC summer hours are Sunday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to Midnight. ( University Housing office hours are Monday through Friday,
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
You will keep your same RSC box and receive mail and packages just like you do now!
You will move to your fall room a few days before New Student Week (probably Wednesday, September 17th). NOTE: You must make arrangements with the RSC if you will be out of town during that time.
The RSC is located on the southeast corner of the Valsetz Dining Hall building. Their phone number is 503-838-8363. RSC summer hours are Sunday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to Midnight.
