University Housing & Campus Dining

Freshman Live-In Requirement

First year students who enroll at WOU within one year of high school graduation regardless of class standing must live on campus for the full academic year (Fall, Winter and Spring terms). Exceptions to this requirement may be requested by petition. Exceptions that are generally approved are as follows:

  • Living at Home with Parents, within a 30 mile radius of WOU.
  • Having a Dependent that is living with you.
  • Marriage.

University Housing would like to invite you to join the Residence Hall Green Team for the remainder of the 2013-2014 Academic Year! We are looking to fill one position on the Green Team who will become a member of the Green Team this year and then transition into the coming academic year as well.

University Housing has just announced openings for several SUMMER POSITIONS within the department. For detailed information and the application packets for this Green Team position, as well as opportunities to serve as a Conference Assistant, Desk Attendant or to become a member of the Summer Custodial staff, please use the link below.

      JULY MAILING - Our much-anticipated July Mailing with information about how to access hall placements and roommate assignments HAS BEEN MAILED! This information was mailed out to in-coming students on Monday, July 23rd. In addition to the above access information, the following items were also enclosed within the July Mailing:
        On move-in day, please report to the hall that you have been assigned to. If you are uncertain of your hall placement, please come to the University Housing Office located on the ground floor of Ackerman Hall, (#1 on the Residence Hall Map)

        NOTE: Barnum, Butler and Gentle residents will be checking in at Gentle Hall (#3 on the Residence Hall Map)
        Arbor Park Residents will check in at the Sequoia Commons building (#10 on the Residence Hall Map)

        Residents arriving for late check-in should come to the University Housing office located on the ground floor of Ackerman Hall, (#1 on the Residence Hall Map) during regular business hours, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, M-F.

        For after-hours check-in, report first to the hall that you have been assigned to, if you cannot find staff there, please report to the Residential Service Center (#6 on the Residence Hall Map).

        • If your plans have changed, and you need to cancel your housing reservation please contact University Housing to make your request in writing. Include your name, student V# and the reason for the cancellation request.

        SUMMER HOUSING CHECK IN

        Check-In for Spring Term has been completed. Any student needing to check into a residential room at this point should report to the University Housing office, located in Ackerman Hall. If you need assistance, please contact University Housing at housing@wou.edu.

        RETURNING STUDENTS NEEDING TO CHECK OUT OF THE RESIDENCE HALLS PLEASE NOTE:

        If you find during the break that you will not be returning to live on campus, you must check out of your residence hall room properly.

        Start by contacting the Office of University Housing and Campus Dining.

        • You M-U-S-T complete your move out by 4:00 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2013 !
        • Please note: the residential student M-U-S-T be present to complete the check out/ move out process.

          • Students moving out ON or AFTER March 31st will be charged for a minimum of 10 days.

          USE THE LINK BELOW TO PAY FOR MEAL PLAN ADDITIONS OR THE HOUSING APPLICATION FEE: The link below will take you to the WOU Portal where you can process payment on your student's account.  Please Note: Payment made here, through the WOU Portal can be made only with Master Card, Discover Card or with an e-check.

          NOTE: WHEN USING THE ONLINE PAYMENT FORM BELOW TO ENSURE CREDIT OF YOUR PAYMENT TO YOUR STUDENT'S HOUSING APPLICATION FEE OR MEAL PLAN ACCOUNT, PLEASE CONTACT UNIVERSITY HOUSING @ 503-838-8311, OR SUBMIT AN EMAIL TO UNIVERSITY HOUSING  WITH YOUR STUDENT'S NAME, WESTERN OREGON UNIVERSITY "V" NUMBER AND A DATE OF PAYMENT. (This email / phone call is needed for meal plan additions or housing application fees ONLY paid online rather than over-the-phone or in person). Thank you!
