NOTE: Barnum, Butler and Gentle residents will be checking in at Gentle Hall (#3 on the Residence Hall Map)
Arbor Park Residents will check in at the Sequoia Commons building (#10 on the Residence Hall Map)

  • Network Access in the Halls

  • Residents should report to the hall which they have been assigned. Housing assignments will be released in late July - look for information about how to access your placement information in your mail by late July. Signs will be posted within the residential community to direct you to your residence hall and Public Safety officers will be available to direct you as well. Residential staff will issue keys, complete check-in paperwork and direct students to their rooms.

  • Residence Hall Map and Directions to Campus

  • Students checking in after 5:00 pm should continue to report to their assigned hall. If you are uncertain of the hall that you have been assigned to - after 5:00 pm, please report to the Residential Service Center (#6 on the Residential Community Map).

  • Students needing to check in after Sunday September, 22nd should contact the University Housing with their estimated time and date of arrival to hold their room reservation.

  • If your plans have changed, and you need to cancel your housing reservation please contact University Housing to make your request in writing. Include your name, student V# and the reason for the cancellation request.

NEW STUDENTS ARRIVING TO CHECK IN, SHOULD REPORT TO THE UNIVERSITY HOUSING OFFICE, located on the main floor off of the lobby in Ackerman Hall - #1 on the Residential Map, FROM NOON TO 5 PM. NEW RESIDENTS NEEDING TO CHECK IN AFTER HOURS SHOULD REPORT TO THE RESIDENTIAL SERVICE CENTER - #6 ON THE RESIDENTIAL MAP.

Returning residents will have access to their rooms/apartments starting at Noon on the 5th as well, but do NOT need to check in with University Housing.

Returning Students

  • The Residence Halls and Valsetz Dining Hall will officially re-open for Winter Term at Noon on Sunday January 5, 2014. Returning students can go directly to their rooms/apartments and will have access starting at Noon.

  • CHECK OUT DURING THE BREAK If during the break a decision is made to check out of the residence halls, begin the process by contacting University Housing 1-877-877-1593, housing@wou.edu.
  • You must complete the check out/move out process by 4:00 pm, Thursday, January 2, 2014
    Failure to check out properly from your residence hall room will result in additional charges to your account.
    YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO CHECK OUT OF YOUR RESIDENTIAL ROOM

  • REMEMBER - NO CHECK-OUTS OR ACCESS TO HALLS DURING THE CAMPUS CLOSURE, DEC 22, 2012-JAN 1, 2013. PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY.
  • Students checking out on or after January 6, 2013 will be charged for a minimum of the first 10 days of Winter Term.

  • REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR MAILBOXES to remove any mail delivered during the break.

    SPRING TERM CHECK-IN: NOON - 5:00 PM, SUNDAY, MARCH 30, 2014

    Spring Term will officially begin with the opening of the Residence Halls on Sunday, March 30th.

    Staff will be on hand to welcome new residents starting at Noon. The check-in process for new residents is scheduled to run from Noon - 5:00 pm.

    NEW RESIDENTS SHOULD REPORT TO THE CENTRAL AREA OF THE BUILDING TO WHICH THEY HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED. PLEASE USE THE LINK BELOW TO ACCESS THE RESIDENTIAL MAP TO GUIDE YOU. For students arriving after 5 pm on Sunday, March 31st - contact numbers for check-in staff will be posted at each check-in location. Additionally, the Residential Service Center (See below for location and phone number) will be open late to assist with check-in.

    • Building check-in locations are as follows:
    • ACKERMAN HALL: # 1 on the map.
      ARBOR PARK (Cedar, Noble or Spruce Halls)- CHECK IN AT SEQUOIA COMMONS: # 10 on the map.
      BARNUM or BUTLER HALL: CHECK IN AT SEQUOIA COMMONS: # 10 on the map.
      HERITAGE HALL: CHECK IN AT HERITAGE HALL: # 9 on the map.
      LANDERS HALL: CHECK IN AT LANDERS HALL SECOND FLOOR LOUNGE: # 5 on the map.
    • Residence Hall Map and Directions to Campus

    • If you are unsure of your assigned building, or require further assistance, please go to the Residential Service Center, located on the North side of the Valsetz Dining Hall - #6 on the Residential Map. The RSC can be reached by phone at 503-838-8363.

    • New students needing to check in after Sunday, March 31st should contact the Office of University Housing and Campus Dining with their estimated time and date of arrival to hold their room reservation.

    RETURNING STUDENTS

    • The Residence Halls and Valsetz Dining Hall will officially re-open for Spring Term at Noon on Sunday March 30th. Returning students can go directly to their rooms/apartments and will have access starting at Noon.

    • REMEMBER REGISTRATION FOR THE HOUSING RENEWAL PROCESS STARTS at 4 PM MONDAY, APRIL 7th. It is all ON-LINE and you can access the Registration portion on the WOU Portal starting April 7th.
    • ONLY RESIDENTS WHO REGISTER FOR THE ROOM RENEWAL PROCESS WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO SELECT THE ROOM OR APARTMENT AND ROOMMATES OF THEIR CHOICE FOR THE COMING YEAR.

    • ROOM TOURS AND THE LAST INFORMATION NIGHT FOR THE RENEWAL PROCESS ARE SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, APRIL 8th - 6 PM, ACKERMAN HALL ROOM 140
