MITU Housing advocacy group

Contact mitu@wou.edu

A grassroots community organization dedicated to serving the towns of Monmouth and Independence Oregon. The group tries to improve the quality and cost of rental housing through education, organizing tenants, and direct action.

MITU has its headquarters on the campus of Western Oregon University and student activists serve as the primary organizers and leaders. However, MITU is not a division of the university, or simply a service organization for students. We work to organize tenants, lobby elected representatives and confront irresponsible landlords.

Membership is open to all, and the organization works to advance the interest of those who pay rent for housing.
