Student Health History Form

Blood Drives:

Each term, the Student Health and Counseling Center sponsors the American Red Cross’s Blood Drive.  Notices and online updates are sent out to the campus and community as the terms blood drive approaches for individuals to make appointments online. learn more

Frequently asked questions

Who are the providers?

The counseling center professional staff is composed of state licensed counselors, therapists and graduate-level interns. The staff has experience working with a wide variety of mental health issues.

What types of issues can they help me with?

Students seek assistance on a variety of concerns such as depression, relationship issues, eating disorders, test anxiety, sexual assault, harassment physical, sexual & hate based, grief and loss, sexuality issues, psychological trauma, adjustment to school, stress management, anger management, substance abuse, self esteem, issues with roommates, performance anxiety, phobias, life planning and vocation exploration.

Where is it located?

The counseling center is located in the student health services building on Church Street across from the Werner University Center.

Who is eligible to obtain services?

Students who are currently enrolled for nine or more credit hours, or who opt to pay the health and counseling center fee, may receive services at the counseling center.

What are the hours?

The counseling center is open monday through friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

How do I make an appointment?

The first appointment is an intake session. This session allows you to become comfortable with the counselor and the counselor to become acquainted with your issues. Any student of WOU, registered for at least 9 nine credit hours, is eligible to access the counseling center for an intake session and five follow-up sessions for free. Students who wish to continue counseling after their five follow up sessions will be charged $25 a session through the student’s account.

call 503-838-8396 or stop by the counseling center. Students in crisis are seen immediately.
