A number of private organizations offer scholarships and awards. We encourage you to check with businesses, churches, and civic organizations. The Financial Aid Office has also compiled a list of private scholarship information and resources for undergraduate and graduate students.
The American Cancer Society's scholarship program is designed to ease the financial and emotional hardships associated with fighting cancer and to assist young cancer survivors reach their academic potential and fulfill their career dreams.
Students enrolled in a science degree program at an accredited university with the objective of a forensic science career can apply to receive a two thousand dollar ($2000) scholarship award.
The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.

The James W. Gallagher scholarship is a $1000 scholarship given by the Western Oregon University Federation of Teachers (the faculty union) to WOU students who demonstrate understanding and awareness of the importance of labor unions and collective bargaining.
