Welcome to Western Oregon University. We are proud of our past and excited about our future. Western Oregon University (WOU) was established in 1856, three years before Oregon became the 33rd state in United States of America. Just as WOU set the example of higher education in Oregon in the 19th century, the university is leading the way in the 21st century.
The world has become interconnected and interdependent in nearly every imaginable manner. A roundtrip from London to Portland, Oregon can cost as low as £400. Business, politics, entertainment, the environment and education are now global activities. Students will need to be prepared to interact and succeed in this highly dynamic and multinational environment and a degree from WOU will help prepare you for a successful future.
WOU offers over 40 academic programmes each with a strong focus on student learning and preparation for career success. Our campus facilities are a purposeful blend of established building which are continually upgraded for the latest instructional technology and state-of-the-art buildings, such as our newest, most energy efficient and environmentally sustainable residence hall, ( Ackerman Hall), and a brand new campus health and wellness center.Questions???
