Western Oregon University welcomes students who have been either partially or entirely home-schooled as high school students. Because home-schooled students have a more customized academic experience and since home-schooled curriculums and teachers are not reviewed in the same manner as public high schools or accredited private high schools, WOU like all other public universities in Oregon, has a set a admission criteria specifically for students who graduated from a home school or from a private high school that is not regionally accredited.
These requirements allow the admissions office at WOU to make a more informed decision regarding overall academic preparation for success at WOU. We've prepared a series of documents that will help the homeschooled student prepare for a successful transition into college life.
Students graduating from an unaccredited high school or who were home schooled must fulfill each of the following requirements:
