Admissions counseling

For NCAA Division II athletics

A Western Oregon University admissions counselors will work with potential athletes during the admissions process to help them understand and prepare for being a student athlete at WOU.

My name is David Compton

David Compton: admissions counselor for prospective college students at Western Oregon University

I am an Admissions Counselor from Western Oregon University. I graduated from Western Oregon University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Education. I was born in Vallejo, California and before attending Western Oregon University I lived on the Southern Oregon Coast, for 17 years, in a small town called Port Orford, Oregon. My high school graduating class totaled 35 students, and I entered WOU as a first generation student. Needless to say I am a small town kind of guy. My recruiting territories include many Oregon counties as well as Nevada. I am also the Athletic Liaison for WOU, so if you have a question about participating in any of our NCAA Division II athletics please feel free to ask me a question. While at WOU I was involved with Residential Life as a Resident Assistant and I spent two years working for the Admissions Office as a campus tour guide and a tele-counselor. Feel free to ask me any question that you may have and I will do my best to give you the most accurate answer.

David Compton’s counties: Hood River, Marion, and Wasco

Out of State: Nevada

Also assists: Prospective NCAA Division II athletes, multicultural and first-generation applicants
