Campus Public Safety


Mission statement

The mission of the Campus Public Safety Department of Western Oregon University is to engender a sense of safety and security by providing an environment in which students, faculty, staff and visitors can learn, work, and live. This is accomplished by a professionally trained corps of officers and staff that honor the individual dignity, diversity, and civil liberties of all people.


The WOU Campus Public Safety provides patrol services to the University on a 24 hour/ 7 days a week basis. We are responsible for Public Safety, Emergency Preparedness, Risk Management, and parking enforcement at Western Oregon University. We provide Crime Prevention Programs as requested in addition to regularly scheduled self-defense classes for our campus community. WOU Campus Public Safety is eager to serve the needs to the University community. Let us know your need for assistance and we will provide the service you would expect from a professional public safety agency. We will always strive to provide a safe, secure environment in which to learn, live, and work.
