Beyond Study Abroad is an international education experience designed specifically for the student-athletes, although participants do not have to be participating in a varsity sport. Any student who is passionate about athletics and connecting the world through sports is an excellent candidate for the program.

CCSA is a higher education consortium of 23 colleges and universities with member schools from Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee and Texas. CCSA is headquartered at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. CCSA is led by an executive director and a board of trustees. Together, they annually develop, plan, and coordinate study abroad programs. The study abroad courses are taught by faculty from consortium- member schools.

The Northwest Council on Study Abroad (NCSA) consists of 12 universities located throughout Oregon, Washington and Alaska. AHA International is an Academic Program of the University of Oregon. Founded in 1957 and based in Portland, Oregon, AHA provides on-site management of the study abroad programs through its site directors, orientation and application materials for faculty and students, and by arranging lodging, classrooms, textbooks, excursions, medical insurance, and other program details. AHA’s merger with University of Oregon in June 2003 strengthened AHA’s academic standing as a provider of for-credit study abroad programs. Faculty from member institutions have the opportunity to apply to teach abroad at a number of the NCSA program sites.

Thousands of Oregon students have gained academic, personal, professional and inter-cultural insight and skills while abroad on an OUS International Exchange Program. OUS programs offer students the unique opportunity to become integrated into another culture through study at an overseas university and provide the avenue by which students can develop these vitally important skills.

An IE3 Global Internship is a supervised, practical, international work experience. Internships range from ten weeks to six months of full-time work. The internship integrates academic credit on the home campus with on-the-job experience, allowing students to gain valuable skills while working toward their degrees. Benefits of an internship range from gaining relevant professional experience, applying coursework to real-life challenges, strengthening foreign language and cross-cultural skills to exploring and pursuing new international opportunities and earning academic credit.

Since 1980, The School for Field Studies (SFS), the nation’s oldest and largest environmental study abroad program, has combined hands-on environmental studies with scientific research to develop sustainable solutions to critical environmental problems. SFS students work with communities in developing nations to discover practical ways to manage their natural resources. In the process, SFS students undergo a transformational experience that assists them in advancing their careers as skilled professionals and globally aware citizens.

Since 1971, SEA has been a leader in off-campus study focused on marine science, maritime culture, and environmental studies. Our SEA Semester study abroad programs challenge students intellectually and physically by combining the sailing adventure of a lifetime with study of the deep ocean and the interactions of humans and the sea.
