CONSTRUCTION DATES: The Oregon Public Safety Academy occupies two buildings on campus. Arbuthnot Hall and Masske Hall provide classrooms, offices, and residence room for the academy.

CURRENT USES: The Academy is the training ground for all city and county police, as well as all sheriffs’ departments within Oregon.
HISTORY: The Academy opened in 1988 using the two former residence halls as its administrative and residence buildings. The Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST), the state’s regulatory department for law enforcement in Oregon, is also housed in the Public Safety Academy.
OTHER INTERESTING FACTS: The Oregon Public Safety Academy and DPSST will relocate to Salem in July, 2006.
