Building - Education Building
Education (ED)

CONSTRUCTION DATES: The Education Building was dedicated in January, 1966.

REMODEL: There have been no major remodel or additions to the Education Building.

CONSTRUCTION COMPANY: Robert D. Morrow, Inc of Salem was the general contractor for the construction of the Education Building.

COSTS: The final bill for the Education Building was $600,000.

ARCHITECTS AND BUILDING STYLE: Wolff, Zimmer, and Associates designed the building in cooperation with staff members of the Education, Psychology, and Teaching Research Departments.

CURRENT USES: The Education Building houses the College of Education and the regional Resource Center on Deafness. Most education and sign language classes are held in Education.

HISTORY: The Education Department was housed in Swindel Hall prior to the completion of the new General Laboratory and Office Building or GLOB, the name initially given to the Education Building.

OTHER INTERESTING FACTS: The Center on Deafness and the College of Education are nationally recognized and has been awarded numerous honors and grants.
