Please complete the form below to request authorization to take fewer than the required number of credits for a term because you have a legitimate reason. The required number of credits for undergraduates is 12 credits and for graduates is 9 (or unless otherwise authorized). Students are allowed only one term of Reduced Course Load (RCL) for academic reasons and may be granted up to three terms of RCL for documented medical reasons. Contact an international student advisor if you have questions or need to speak with someone about your situation.
Please print the Reduced Course Load Authorization Form and give it to the appropriate person so that they can authorize your request. You MUST gain authorization from your academic advisor or a professional doctor or a clinical psychologist (if for a medical RCL reason) in order to complete the RCL application process.
