Enjoy cultural displays and information about counties from around the world. International students will have a variety of activities in which you can participate — have your name written in a different language, play games, and learn a foreign dance.

Enjoy international foods and make friends at the International Potluck to wrap up International Education Week on Friday. Participants are encouraged to bring an international dish to share.
Roadside Pick-up during Fall term 2009
International students and students from the dorm worked together to keep Monmouth beautiful by helping the Key Club pick up trash along Riddle Road.

International Education Week (Annual Event)
World Exposition on November 18th, 2010
Students set up displays from around the world in the Werner University Center! Students presented information about their country, displayed traditional clothing and artifacts, and played cultural music, videos and games.

International Potluck on November 20th, 2010
International students shared homemade foods and dishes from their countries. Students, faculty, staff and the Monmouth community met some of the International students at WOU and enjoyed the delicious foods they prepared!

International Club and Chinese Club Parade Float in the WOU Tree Lighting Ceremony Parade in December, 2009
To spread the word about the International Club and the Chinese Students and Scholars Club, members made a parade float (a giant globe), wore masks painted with their country’s flag, and greeted the Monmouth community.

Intramural Soccer and Basketball teams during Fall term 2009
The Activities Coordinators, Vikas Sharma and Biraj Bisht, organized two international and domestic teams; a co-ed soccer team and a men’s soccer team.
Supported Activities in the Residence Halls
The President of the IC club, Zihan Gao, is also an RA in the international hall in Heritage Hall. She plans many additional events which allows for interaction between international and domestic students.

Ski Trip in January, 2010 (Annual Event)
Students enjoyed an overnight trip and skiing/snowboarding/tubing at Mt. Hood Meadows ski resort. Some students chilled in the lodge, the beginners took lessons and stayed on the beginner hill, while the more adventurous took the lift to the top of the mountain.

Help Haiti Fundraiser in February, 2010
International Club member, Samrid Aryal, organized this activity and with the help of IC members (Nagisa, Keiko, Clark and others) and the WOU community, raised $155 for the American Red Cross to help the people of Haiti after the recent earthquakes.

Fundraising with the Valentines day “Love around the world” gift and bake sale in February, 2010
While tickets for the annual Chinese Spring Festival were on sale, IC Treasurer Xiaoying Zhang (Vivian), and IC Vice-President Shuang Song (Yoyo) organized the gift and bake sale of many Chinese and international goods. This included folded roses made by member Monem Almutawah, and origami hearts by Nagisa Shimokado.

Bowling Night on March 5th, 2010
Club members, students from the dorms, and friends gathered together for a night of bowling in Independence’s Pioneer Lanes.

Appreciation Dinner on April 9th, 2010 (Annual Event)
IC Secretary, Keiko Ushijima-Mwesigwa, and ASWOU Representative, Qian Hu (Crystal), organized the potluck where we thank the Monmouth community which support and help Western international students and scholars. We are grateful for their support and guidance!

International Night on May 21st, 2010 at 6pm in the Werner University Center Pacific Room (Annual Event)
International Night is an annual event where students from around the world gather together to celebrate and exchange multicultural knowledge; this includes performances, music and food! Performances for the 2010 show include African drumming and dancing, a Japanese dance, an Indian dance, TAIKO Japanese drumming, Chinese music and an international fashion show. There will be activities for kids and attendees such as making Japanese water-balloon yoyos and pinwheels, a photo booth with an international background, traditional calligraphy and henna tattoos. Please join us on May 21st!

Updating the International Club Website
The club website has been neglected for years but this year the IC Webdesigner, Todor Ivanov, redesigned and updated the IC website.
