Welcome to Western Oregon University! (View in Chinese)

Established in 1856, Western Oregon University is the first public university in the state of Oregon. The university offers programs in liberal arts and sciences and professional programs in education, business, and public services; and a cooperative program in nursing. Currently there are more than 6,200 students enrolled on WOU’s Monmouth campus.

Western Oregon University is a comprehensive university that creates personalized learning opportunities, supports the advancement of knowledge for the public good and maximizes individual and professional development. Our environment is open to the exchange of ideas, where discovery, creativity and critical thinking flourish, and students succeed. Western Oregon University is steadily emerging as a leading comprehensive public liberal arts institution.

Western Oregon University is located in the safe and beautiful area on the west coast of the United States. The university is within an easy driving distance from the Pacific Ocean, the breathtaking Cascade Mountains or to major cities such as Portland, Seattle and San Francisco. The climate is moderate and comfortable nearly year-round.

Western Oregon University has a long tradition of advocating the cultural diversity and values of internationalization on our campus.
