Almost all of the following systems will work with your Pawprint login, which is the same as your email and network login. You will be able to access the following:
Portal: Gives you links to log into many WOU systems without needing to re-enter your password. You can access Google Apps (e-mail), WolfWeb, WOUAlert, Forums, Blog, Moodle, Library, etc all from one place.
Wolf Web: Lets you take care of academic and university business; update your address, view your bill, order or view transcripts and grades, register for classes, order parking permits, and much more.
Google Apps: You can access your WOU e-mail here and access all of the Google applications such as your calendar and Google Docs. Find out more about Google apps@Western.
Moodle: WOU Online lets you access online, hybrid, and traditional class information and resources you may need for your classes.
Campus Computers: Computers are available for student use throughout the campus, including Hamersly Library, Werner University Center, APSC, and in the Residence Halls Computer Labs.
Step by step instructions on viewing your Pawprint Username and Email.
By creating an account, you will be able to view your WOU Profile and be able to see your WOU e-mail address, username, and student identification number.
From the www.wou.edu homepage, click on WOU Portal at the top of the page.
Click the “Account Lookup” link or go to http://www.wou.edu/accountlookup.
Click on the Change Password button.
Enter your Social Security Number (SSN) or your Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Number. Most international students do not have a SSN and will need to enter their SEVIS number. This is located on the top right side of your I-20 or DS-2019. It begins with a “N000…”. Please keep this number confidential.
Enter your Last Name.
Type the characters that you see in the picture above (security code).
If you receive an error message, try reentering your information 2-3 more times. You may want to try leaving out any spaces or hyphens your name may have, or entering your first name instead of your last. If you continue to have problems, please contact us by email with the error number or message and your information and we will research the error.
After successfully logging in, you will be able to Review the Acceptable Use of Computing Resources Policy.
By state policy, everybody who gets an account on a university system must agree to the Acceptable Use Policy. Basically, you agree not to use your access for any commercial or illegal activity, and you take responsibility for everything you do and say. The full policy has too much important information to summarize, so read it completely.
You will be able to see your WOU e-mail address, your username, and V Number (WOU Student Identification Number). Print this page for your records.
Step by step instructions on creating or resetting your Pawprint password.
These are general guidelines. Do not reuse past passwords or an error message will appear.
WOU insists on the following criteria:
The password must be 7 characters or longer (only the first 7 are used so you must have all criteria met within the first 7 characters).
The password must contain at least one letter (this stops things such as special dates, SSN, phone numbers, etc. from being used).
The password must contain three of the following: a special character (non-alphanumeric such as /, @, #, $, %, etc.) a digit (0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9), an uppercase letter (A,B,C), a lowercase letter (a,b,c).
The first character must not be a dash (-).
It cannot contain an apostrophe (' or `).
The password cannot contain 3 or more consecutive letters of your username, last name, or first name.
Your password must be at least 7 characters long, only the first 7 characters are used so you must have all criteria met within the first 7 characters.
If you have a hard time picking a password which meets the criteria, use a word or name in your native language. Your mother’s name “Li Yang” could turn into your password “L1Y@ng1952”. It is easy when you think about it!
After you submit your password, it will either be accepted or denied. If accepted, wait 3 minutes for your new password to be loaded into the system. Practice accessing Portal and Wolf Web to become comfortable navigating the system.
If you receive an error message, try reentering different passwords 2-3 times. Make sure you are meeting all the password rules. If you continue to have problems, please contact us with the error number or message and we will research the error.
