Featured Tools and Tutorials

There are many fantastic free applications available to you and your students on the web. The advantages to using web tools in your classes are that you can often access materials from anywhere and that most browser-based applications are platform-neutral, which means that it doesn't matter what kind of computer you or your students are using. There isn't any special software to download, which means everyone with internet access can use the application.

Where can I find it?

http://www.prezi.com

What is it?

Prezi is a web-based presentation tool with an infinitely zoomable canvas that allows teachers and students alike to create and present content in new ways. Check out this introduction video.

How does it work?

Prezi is "cloud"-based, which means that you can access it from any computer with an internet connection by visiting prezi.com in any web browser and signing in. You will need to create a free account to use Prezi.

How can I use this in my course?

Prezi is an excellent tool for creating unique lectures, but it can also help you assess your students. Rather than making a poster or writing an essay, your students can present their ideas in a dynamic, interactive way. Embedded images, links, and videos can make presentations come alive while viewers can control the direction and flow of information.

Where can I learn more?

Prezi has a fantastic library of helpful resources to get you started. Check it out!
