Faculty Development Workshops

The Division of Extended Programs is proud to announce a series of regular academic technology, pedagogy, and course development workshops for faculty and staff. No registration required! Walk-in to any sessions that interest you and join the conversation.

Regularly scheduled CTL events are located in ITC 205 and generally adhere to the following format:

TEC Team - 2nd and 4th Friday of Every Month @ 2:00
Technology Extended Campus (TEC) is an adhoc intra-university advisory group focused on planning and developing the processes, policies, and infrastructure necessary to support Western's efforts to enhance and expand its online and other flexible-format course offerings.

Assessment Workshops - 1st and 3rd Wednesday and Friday @ 2:00pm

This Spring, workshops will focus largely on the concepts, rubrics, and processes of assessing the undergraduate learning outcomes (ULOs). Our assessment roundtable series, titled Undergraduate learning outcomes: what's next?, is structured around four outcome clusters: Foundations, Academic Literacies, Creative Literacies, and Literacies for Engagement. Each outcome cluster will be explored on Wednesdays and Fridays in April, May, and June (see schedule below). These sessions will include an introduction to WOU's Alignment model, the ULO outcome rubrics, and the assessment outcomes process. Faculty need not be overly concerned that they are choosing the "right" outcome cluster for their courses; these sessions will be largely providing a general introductory overview. Sessions will be hosted by Dan Clark and members of the Faculty Senate ad-hoc "Leap" committee. Faculty are encouraged to call Dan with any questions..
