Announcements: PLEASE VISIT AN ACADEMIC ADVISOR TO DISCUSS CHANGES
Program Changes were approved for the 2010-2011 WOU catalog. If you are a freshman or sophomore during the 2010-2011 school year you will likely target the REVISED program requirements as listed in the 2010-2011 catalog.
Entry points into the full-time program are Fall and Spring. Remember to apply two terms before you wish to enter the program. Click here for more information on applying.
Academic Advising and the Phase Requirements:
Western Oregon University offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Education (For graduate advising, please visit www.wou.edu/graduate). For a better understanding of the requirements of an Education student, the College of Education has broken the timeline of a typical undergraduate education major into 3 segments;
-
Phase 1
(Phase 1 is advised by the Academic Advising and Learning Center. Note: Middle/High Majors receiving advising from the department which they are majoring in.) - After the completion of Phase 1, the AALC will complete a file review with the student and transfer them over to Phase 2.
-
Phase 2
(Phase 2 is advised by the Division of Teacher Education faculty adviser.)
-
Phase 3
(Phase 3 begins after ACCEPTANCE into the licensure program.)
