How do I set up an Appointment with an Advisor?
There are two ways that students can request appointments with advisors in the Academic Advising and Learning Center (AALC). Students can either stop by the AALC located in APSC 401 or call 503-838-8428.
If you have a faculty advisor, we will not be able to remove your advising hold however we are more than willing to discuss the LACC or BA/BS requirement. To set up an appointment with your faculty advisor, you will want to contact them directly.
What can the AALC Advisors Help With?
The AALC primarily serves and supports Pre-Nursing, Pre-Education, and Exploratory students with questions regarding their majors. We also advise students with questions regarding their LACC and B.A./B.S. requirements. In addition to discussing degree requirements, the AALC also meets with students who find themselves on Academic Warning, Probation or Suspension.
Do I need an Appointment?
Appointments are the best way to see an advisor. The AALC operates on an appointment basis. However, during weeks 1 and 8 of every term, the AALC does NOT take appointments. Rather they see students on a walk in basis. This is designed to serve the student demand during these weeks. The other weeks of the term, walk-ins are not offered, but advisors may see students if there is time open in their schedule. Appointments are the best option to see an advisor during a week that walk-ins are not offered.
When is the AALC Open?
The Academic Advising and Learning Center is open year round, Monday through Friday 8-5. We close on all University closures.
