Do you have a fond memory of Gentle House, love Western Oregon University/Monmouth history and/or want to learn more about the care of historic gardens? Consider joining the Friends of Gentle House. To learn more contact Erin McDonough at mcdonoughe@wou.edu or 503.838.9120.
The Friends of Gentle House efforts enhance the Gentle House as a community landmark. The House is filled with a rich history dating from the late 1800's through the time it was gifted to the University in the 1980s. A site for "genteel entertaining" the Friends are critical to the upkeep of the gardens – laid out in the early 20th century – and the interior of the original home and museum it houses. Community contributions of time and treasurer continue this rich tradition.
Please join us, 10am – Noon. The teaching demonstrations are free and open to the public. Please bring work gloves, pruners and questions so you can participate in the "hands-on" instruction; refreshments will be served.
2nd & 4th Thursdays, 9:30-12:30
