BA/BS Mathematics

There are two available tracks, a Mathematics Track (below) and an Applied Mathematics Track

Degree Requirements for a Mathematics Major with a Mathematics Track:

CS 161 Computer Science I MTH 251 Calculus I MTH 252 Calculus II MTH 253 Calculus III Sequences and Series MTH 254 Multivariate Calculus MTH 280 Introduction to Proof MTH 311 Advanced Calculus I MTH 312 Advanced Calculus II MTH 341 Linear Algebra MTH 344 Group Theory MTH 345 Ring Theory MTH 365 Mathematical Probability MTH 366 Mathematical Statistics MTH 403 Senior Project MTH 404 Senior Project II Four Upper Division Electives in Mathematics

MATHEMATICS MAJOR 74 - 75 Hours

Prerequisite Skills: Students who have completed pre-calculus or an introduction to calculus in high school and receive a qualifying score on the placement test may enroll in MTH 251 Calculus. Others may find it necessary to take MTH 111 College Algebra and MTH 112 Elementary Functions before starting the calculus sequence. These students should be advised carefully.
