Description:    Rainbow Dance Theatre's ensemble of virtuoso dancers brings their new show to Rice Auditorium. iLumiDance is comprised of works that feature the interplay of dance and illumination. The dancers are sure to amaze audiences of all ages with their athletic pull-out-the-stops celebration of dancing that pays homage to world-dance and music influences (Sheryl Dare, Honolulu Advertiser). The distinctive choreography of artistic directors Darryl Thomas and Valerie Bergman creates an exotic feast for the senses. (Isamu Jordan, Spokane Spokesman Review)

Drag Show Auditions

Description:    The drag show is an annual dance performance where student writers, directors, stage/tech workers, choreographers and dancers come together to create an amazing performance. Sold out every year! Everyone is welcome to audition! It is a safe space for all! This year's theme follows the story of Pandora, the first woman, and the world's attempt to unleash the chaos found within her box. Greek gods and figures are also seen within the story! No dance or drag experience is needed! Wear clothes you can move in! Performing in drag is not required! More information will be released Week 1 of Winter Term.

Governor Barbara Roberts
Visits WOU

Details:    Barbara Roberts served as Oregon's governor from 1991 to 1995. She will be on campus Monday Nov. 7 to talk about her life in politics and to launch her new book, Up the Capitol Steps: A Woman's March to the Governorship. The event is free and open to the public and includes a book signing.

Western Oregon University (WOU) is recognized as a fully-accredited higher education institution by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities*. Accreditation is an ongoing seven-year process that is intended to ensure that universities deserve the confidence of the community and students. The Commission reconfirmed WOU's educational quality and effectiveness in 2011, enabling us to continue to receive federal funds to support teaching, research and student financial aid.

In April 2013, the Commission will be conducting the 'Year Three' review and evaluation of WOU's Report on Resources and Capacity. This report will describe the ways in which we have put the necessary organizational structures into place to meet our mission and goals as a university. As part of this review, we invite you to share your comments about our qualifications for accreditation. Your letter will be shared with the evaluation committee, the Commission, as well as WOU administrators.

Here's how you can comment on WOU's performance:

  1. Be sure to sign your letter. Send it so that it will be received by March 1, 2013.
