Welcome

At WOU we connect teaching and learning both in our classrooms and in schools, and we're proud that our graduates are some of the most sought after in Oregon and the Northwest. We offer full-time and part-time undergraduate programs and a full spectrum of age levels and content areas. For high school and special education areas, graduate level programs are available days, evenings and online. Our dedicated faculty and staff can help you prepare for a successful career in teaching, community health, exercise science, sport leadership, rehabilitation counseling, American Sign Language interpreting, to name a few. We invite you to learn more! Hilda Rosselli, Dean

Diversity and Multicultural Education Statement

WOU College of Education programs value culturally responsive teaching and view diversity as an asset. The programs cultivate the ability of our graduates to take multiple perspectives, identify and examine current assumptions, be creative, take risks, and adopt an experimental and problem solving orientation.

Mission and goals

Accreditation

We've been continuously accredited by NCATE and Oregon's TSPC since 1954 and are one of only eight nationally accredited teacher preparation programs in Oregon; our next on-site visit is tentatively set for 2014. In 2008 we achieved accreditation by Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE). The BA/BS in American Sign Language/English Interpreting program earned full national accreditation through the Commission on Collegiate Interpreter Education on March 31, 2010.
