Project SPELL

Project SPELL: Sustainable Practices for English Language Learners, is a Federal grant awarded to Western Oregon University with the focus on ESOL endorsements, coaching, and professional learning communities.

Western Oregon University's ESOL/Bilingual Education program prepares teachers to ensure that English Language Learners (ELLs) succeed in all aspects of their schooling: academics, linguistic development, acculturation, socialization, and physical and emotional health.

For teacher's working in our participating school districts, student's class tuition and fees are paid for by the SPELL grant. The money-out-of pocket for students will include the National Evaluation Series (NES) testing fee and the fee to TSPC to add the endorsement to their license.

Each class is three graduate credits and is acceptable to TSPC for licensure renewal.
