WCU TO PRESENT
UNIVERSITY CHORUS
The University Chorus of Western Carolina University will present a concert on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 8 p.m.
The concert will take place in the recital hall in the Coulter Building. It is free and open to the public.
Robert Holquist, WCU professor of music, will conduct the chorus. He will be accompanied by Lillian Pearson, WCU associate professor of music.
The 80-voice ensemble will perform a wide variety of music styles.
Selections will include “For the Beauty of the Earth,” “Gaelic Blessing” and “The Lord is my Shepard” by British composer John Rutter; and the spirituals “The Storm is Over” and “Where Shall I Be When the Trumpet Sounds.”
Popular selections also will be performed, including “Imagine” by John Lennon, “Colors of the Wind” by Stephen Schwartz” and “Seasons of Love” from the musical “Rent.”
