BASKETS, CONTAINERS TO BE TOPIC
OF ARTI-FACTS! PROGRAM AT WCU

Baskets and other containers will be the topic of an Arti-Facts! program for children on Sunday, Oct. 8, at Western Carolina University's Mountain Heritage Center.

Set for 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., the program will include an exploration of the temporary exhibit “Transformations: Cherokee Baskets in the 20th Century,” which is currently on display at the museum. Participants also will get a chance to examine bags, buckets and other types of baskets, and to make a container of their own.

Designed for children ages 6 through 12, Arti-Facts! programs explore the region's natural and cultural heritage. Attendance is free, but reservations are required. Parents are invited to attend with their children.

For reservations or more information, call the museum at (828) 227-7129.
