FREE CHEROKEE NATION HISTORY COURSE
WILL BE HELD DURING TWO WEEKENDS AT WCU
Western Carolina University will host a Cherokee Nation history course that includes information about the Eastern Band on Sept. 15-17 and Sept. 29-Oct. 1.
The course provides an overview of Cherokee history and the reasons why both the Cherokee Nation and the Eastern Band exist as separate, federally recognized tribes, said Carrie McLachlan, WCU Cherokee studies coordinator.
To register for the class, which is free and open to the public, contact Carrie McLachlan at (828) 227-2303 or mclachlan@wcu.edu .
