In Version 9 of our Student Information System, students no longer have access to the Advisement Transcript. To view their degree requirements, they now use the ADV report. Although the ADV report is similar to the Advisement Transcript, it does contain some additional features that may be useful to the student and advisor. To better assist your advisees, it is suggested that faculty advisors also use the ADV report for advising purposes. Detailed instructions on using the ADV report are available online at http://virginiawestern.edu/facstaff/advisorcenter.php.
Please note that the Advisor Center is only available to those instructors that are also marked as advisors in SIS.
Changes in financial aid regulations for Return of Title IV funds mandate that our current procedure for populating the Last Date of Attendance field on the final grade roster be modified. These changes will become effective with summer 2012 grade processing and continue for all future terms.
A document which outlines the new instructions for the Last Date of Attendance field and how this field should be populated is available online under Faculty Resources at http://virginiawestern.edu/facstaff/docs/LastDateofAttendanceFieldSummer2012.pdf. This information is also available in the My VWCC Survival Guide at http://virginiawestern.edu/studenthelp/faculty/recordgrades.php.
All faculty should review this document and become familiar with these changes. Failure to populate this field correctly could result in significant issues for the student and the college.
