In May 2012, the number of doctors from the University of Virginia Health System selected for inclusion in the annual guide America's Top Doctors™ (11th edition) totaled fifty-three. Published annually by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., the book recognizes physicians who are considered among the top one percent in the nation in their medical specialties and sub-specialties. Additionally, 20 U.Va. faculty physicians are listed in a sister publications, "American's Top Doctors for Cancer," seventh edition.
Newsweek/Kaplan "Finding the Right College For You" Guide
The 2010 edition of the guidebook cited U.Va. as Number 7 on the list of "25 Most Desirable Schools" and Number on its lists of "25 Best Schools for Future Powerbrowers."
University of Virginia's College at Wise
The 2009 U.S. News & World report ranked the University of Virginia College at Wise No. 4 for 2010 among liberal art colleges in the Least Debt category. While 59 percent of students at the College at Wise graduate with debt, at an average debt of $10,252, it is the fourth lowest among national liberal arts colleges.
Business Week Rankings
October 2010 - BusinessWeek ranked Darden School of Business as Number 11, receiving a Number 1 ranking for Student Satisfaction.
Design Intelligence Rankings
November 2012 - The University of Virginia School of Architecture's Master of Architecture and Master of Landscape Architecture programs both rank in the top three of their categories for graduate degree programs, according to the just-released 2013 Design Intelligence rankings of "America's Best Architecture and Design Schools." The two programs also rank in the top 10 overall, including both public and private universities. Read More.
March 2012 - BusinessWeek ranked the McIntire School of Commerce as the No. 2 undergraduate business program in the country, and the No. 1 MBA feeder school. 2011 - The Economist ranked Darden School of Business as Number 3 in the United States, receiving a Number 4 in the World.
U.Va. Ranks No. 1 as Best College Buy and No.1 as the Best Public University
May 2008 — Forbes published a listing that ranked U.Va. No. 1 among national public universities by the Center for College Affordability & Productivity, a research organization in Washington, D.C. that evaluates colleges based on results. Read more.
Forbes Ranks the Darden School of Graduate Business at No. 9
In August 2011, Forbes released a biennial survey of America's best business schools and ranked Darden 9th in the nation. The survey ranks schools based on "return on investment," which is determined by compensation five years after graduation minus tuition and the forgone salary during school. Read more.
Financial Times Ranks Darden Executive Education Faculty No. 1 for Seventh Year in a Row
May 2011 — In the most recent open-enrollment survey from Financial Times, Darden's highly acclaimed faculty took the No. 1 position for the seventh year in a row. The paper ranks Darden's open enrollment programs No. 5 globally.
University of Virginia Tops National 'Best Value' Ranking of Public Universities February 2012— The Princeton Review ranked the University of Virginia No. 2 in its annual "Best Value Colleges" report. Princeton Review Ranks U.Va. Law First in Quality of Life
In the 2009 edition of its "Best 174 Law Schools," the Princeton Review ranked U.Va.'s School of Law first in the "Quality of Life" category. Other rankings for U.Va. Law: No. 3 in Best Career Prospects, No. 4 in "Professors Rock" (Legally Speaking), and No. 5 in Best Classroom Experience.
Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine Recognizes U.Va. Among Top-Value Colleges
January 2010 — Based on the quality of both its academic and financial aid offerings, the University of Virginia ranks third among more than 500 public four-year colleges and universities across the nation for "best value," according to an annual ranking by Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine. NCAA 2008 data shows the University of Virginia holds a 86 percent graduation rate among athletes, having measures in place for helping student-athletes achieve academic success.
U.Va. Among Top Schools With Peace Corps Volunteers
January 25, 2012—The University of Virginia was ranked 18th among large universities in having the most volunteers on the Peace Corps' annual list of "Top Producing Colleges and Universities." U.Va. has 69 alumni currently serving as Peace Corps volunteers, an increase by five from 2011. Since the inception of the Peace Corps in 1961, more than 1,000 U.Va. alumni have served. Read more.
Batten School Makes Its Debut in U.S. News Grad School Rankings
March 13, 2012 — The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy was barely off the ground in 2008 when U.S. News & World Report last rated schools of public affairs. In the 2013 rankings, Batten cracked the top 50, tying for No. 46 with six additional colleges and universities. Read More.
