VCCS Office of Professional Development Grants Program
The Office of Professional Development offers two types of grants:
The VCCS Paul Lee Professional Development Grant
These grants are awarded based on the merit of the activity to be undertaken in such areas as discipline, instructional, career and organizational development. Faculty may apply individually or collaboratively for time and expenses. Maximum funding for time is eight credits @ $750 per credit. Most time is funded at four credits. Summer funding is a flat $2500. See details on the Professional Development Grants page.
The VCCS Paul Lee Workshop Mini-Grant
These grants are awarded to fund group activities such as day conferences, in-service activities and workshops, and must involve more than one college in scope, preparation and attendance. All VCCS employees are welcome to apply. A maximum of $1500 is available per mini-grant. See details on the Workshop Mini-Grant page.
A maximum of one professional development grant and one workshop mini-grant can be awarded per person per funding cycle. Note: if more than one of each is submitted, both applications will be disqualified.
Professional Development Grant Award Schedule
Effective dates refer to the time period during which the work will take place. Application deadlines are scheduled two semesters in advance. If your project will take more than one grant cycle, break it down and apply for only the work that will be completed in the timeframe specified. You may then apply for a second grant.
Note: If the deadline date falls on a weekend, the next business date becomes the new deadline date.
